OUR PASTOR
Pastor Paul Klaus
Pastor Paul has been at South Shore since February 2021 but has been in ministry since 2000. Concurrently he is also serving as the Pastor of Centerpoint Chapel that meets in the same location. He has served several churches in North and Central Texas as well as western Kansas before landing in Corpus Christi. Before his time in ministry, Paul served in the US Army at FT. Hood, TX from 1986-1989. In the spring of 1998 Paul had an encounter with God on the side of a rode in his Ford Escort wagon in Glenmora, Louisiana listening to a show on the radio called Thru the Bible presented by Dr. J. Vernon McGee. The truth of God’s love and Christ’s sacrifice for him became real to Paul and the direction and course of His life would be forever changed. Paul would later find himself in Paris, Texas serving at a church where he and his wife Lisa would answer calls to ministry. It would take 3 years and driving 100,000 miles to get through seminary. Lisa and Paul have one daughter, Sarah and son in law Brian, who are married, live in Munich, Germany.
The heart of Paul’s ministry is to help people know God and make Him known to the world around them through witness and service. The church serves as a mechanism and institution to make this happen. Paul answered God’s call to South Shore and hopes to spend the remainder of his time in ministry faithfully proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ.

PASTOR EMERITUS
RALPH & BARBARA WILLIS
Ralph and Barbara have approached the Pastor/Hospitality effort as a team assignment, so it seems appropriate to say something about both their backgrounds. Barbara was born and raised here in Corpus Christi, and Ralph was raised on the plains of Western Kansas
Barbara’s education included graduation from West Oso High School, and a year at Del Mar, after which she accepted employment at ARADMAC, now CCAD. During this period, Ralph and Barbara met, fell in love, and eventually married. Ralph’s formal education was limited to a high school diploma from Hill City High School in Hill City, Kansas. Between them, they have three daughters, three granddaughters, and three great-grandsons, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Barbara and Ralph were married shortly after completing the twenty-one years of Ralph’s military career, twenty-one years that ran the spectrum from an Airborne Infantry forward scout observer to helicopter mechanic/crew chief and finally to a helicopter pilot. Ralph was fortunate enough to go to and return from three combat tours in Vietnam. Ralph and Barbara accepted Christ as their savior and joined Covenant Baptist Church in 1994, a decision they have never regretted or considered changing.
On a Walk to Emmaus, Ralph felt the call to the Ministry, something that he explains he did not understand, but thankfully, did not question. The rest is recent history; having served as Associate Pastor for twenty years at Covenant Baptist Church, he resigned to help form Centerpoint Chapel in March of 2015, where he has remained to serve until this writing in 2021. He resigned to help form Centerpoint Chapel in March of 2015 and retired from pastoral duties March 31, 2023. The Church Directors awarded the designation of Pastor Emeritus. His most enjoyable passion is enriching his contemplative life through Centering Prayer and worship in the manner of Taize.
